Disco Dazzler

i was just sharing the excitement with a friend over the upcoming Essential Dazzler release, and it got me thinking about how much I loved that series. They don't make 'em like that any more do they (Martin says for the 100th time on his blog). In fact one of my favourite EVER comics was Dazzler 13, when she got thrown into Riker's Island and had to face the Grapplers (including Screaming Mimi, who was so cool and is now a bit lame as Songbird). Aaaahhhhhh.
Interesting fact: one of my Marvel submissions was a strip featuring Rogue versus Titania and Mimi (three of my favourite characters). I drew it on Bristol Board and everything. It was terrible, but I still got a nice Spider-man letterheaded rejection from Stan.

I'm looking forward to Essential Dazzler too.

We both need to get out more.

The rollerskates -- I'd forgotten all about the rollerskates! And that title logo -- just what demographic were they going for here...? :-)

Did you know the original idea was that Marvel would launch the comic then some record company would hire a singer to 'be' Dazzler; and everybody would get rich of the record sales? I wonder what happened with that? :-)

bring back the old Dazzler costume i say. dump the pink hair and the motorbike and the romance with Juggernaut (if she is, I don't really know what's going on. she probably shouldn't, since he killed her once. in Uncanny Xmen 217 i believe. er...)

Juggernaut confuses me. How old is he supposed to be? He seems to be just a kid in New Excalibur, but surely, even in terms of the sluggish passage of time in comic-books, he's been around for decades?

And back on topic: is it just the once that Dazzler has died (before she turned up in NE -- where she's since died again at least once, maybe twice.)?

i think juggernaut is just a bit...simple.
not sure about dazz dying. i know she 'died' in that x-men issue - or at least they thought she was dead.
i'm sure she prob died in her own series once or twice.
She 'died' in the fall of the mutants with the x-men too, didn't she?
