Lost - mid-season break discussion...

(discussion with myself lol)

just watched Lost again - the last episode until the new batch.

okay, so what i wanted to see and know - how did Michael get off the island? fair enough, he went off in that boat, but was it really that easy?

it was good to see the big guy back again - the one with the deep voice - Zack? i assume this was before his death on the island and that he dies afterwards. and is he gay?!

the fake plane thing seems to have been cleared up and explained now. when it was mentioned last season, i thought it might have been a parallel universe. it's kinda daft...

in michael's flashback, when he's in hospital, it's Christmas - and yet it's Christmas on the island. surely it takes michael a long time to recover from his injuries? maybe it's the time warp effect?

nice to see libby again. i heard she was coming back...somehow...

i'm not a huge fan of Alex, the girl. she hasn't done much yet... The writers seem to like her...

is it just me that just thinks of the island being Hawaii - because that is where it is filmed...

the shooting at the end was intriguing... I wonder who did it... I reckon Ben ordered the shootings, he didn't seem happy about Alex being with Carl...
and check these out...

still, it's been a great start to season 4. kinda hit and miss, but a vast improvement. they need to be careful though, cos i figure they have two kinds of fans - the sci-fi people and the drama fan people - i'd class myself as the latter as i enjoyed the Juliet, Kate and Sun eps. didn't enjoy the Des ep so much - altho it did have a romantic side to it, i guess. Also - they've gotta serve the whole cast a bit more. Where have sun and jin been for most of the season? no Jack or Kate or Juliet in this mini-finale either (although I guess you don't notice until you think about it)

and good to see Miles finally got the grenade out of his mouth.
And Sayid rocks.

The fake plane thing is a thumb to the nose at anyone who says Lost never answers any questions sufficiently. I'm intrigued at how they're making Jim Robinson into the Big Bad of the whole series now.

I still think the time warp thing needs further explanation - Michael definitely appears to have been away from the island for longer than everyone else has been trapped on it.

The 'Who Shot Rousseau' ending seemed a bit tacked-on to me, just to give us a mini-cliffhanger. Is Rousseau actually dead though? The boy, yeah, he was a cipher - but Rousseau still has potential.

I am, more and more, coming to think of the island as being Hawaii. Actually, now that Michael has returned, he should have more of an idea as to exactly where it really is.

The shorter season means many of the characters have been shortchanged. I particularly need more Locke and Sawyer. But I do like the way the show can leave main characters (even Jack & Kate) off-screen for so long and yet still their plates spinning. That's impressive for a show like this.

i think the general fan consensus is that Jim Robinson is a good guy... (how does he get so much work? i don't think he's a very good actor at all)

Rousseau definitely seemed tacked on. she ain't dead - we need her back-story - the one back story i am DYING to see...

yeah i agree re plates spinning. and also you know that sawyer and locke will do a lot more in the new eps.
